Controversies | • Following the release of his movie 3 Idiots, Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra called for a press conference meet in order to clear the air regarding Chetan Bhagat's copyright infringement allegations. However, Chopra lost his cool while responding to a journalist's questions and asked him to 'shut up.' • In October 2016, at a film festival in Mumbai, Chopra again lost his cool on a journalist. - During his junior years at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Vidhu used to carry a big knife while roaming inside the campus. In an interview, he revealed that he was highly anti-ragging and would have even killed a senior if they crossed limits.
- Around the same time, he fell in love with one of his batchmates. Young Vidhu, however, did not think much about the consequences of an early marriage and hence tied the knot at the age of 19. Soon, quarrels started inhibiting their relationship and the couple decided to part ways.
